The Rez Refuge team builds relationships with teenagers in our neighborhood throughout the year. Teens and staff organize special events like Open Mic Nights, Ultimate Frisbee, Video Game Tournaments, Lock-ins, and art projects. In the warmer months, our work with teens picks up with gardening, wilderness trips, leadership development, and community service. We have a Youth Fellow program that gives organizing power to teenagers from our neighborhood who want to create a positive and vital community among young people. The Community Center is open for the Rez Teens Program Monday through Friday 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
More on Wilderness Trips...
With organized day hikes throughout the year, an annual backpacking trip to Colorado, and a summer camping trip to the Grand Canyon, we teach youth from the neighborhood how to work together, how to live in the forest, and how to make and execute a plan as a team. It is a powerful opportunity for young people to learn about themselves, one another, the Creation, and what they all hold in common.
